This afternoon I teach a Show Choir class for 7-8 years. Its a small class of only 2 students, but we have a LOT of fun! It is so exciting when students are a bit older and ready to voice their interests. They are ready and willing to learn new things, to ask questions, and to make statements as to their likes and dislikes. It is amazing to see the innate musicality in young students, and how quickly they learn through call-and-response. We have been working on "I Won't Grow Up" from Peter Pan as our first new song, a song that naturally lends itself to that style of learning, and the girls are doing such a wonderful job with it!
