Putumayo Kids

Another rainy day here in Bethesda, though we're trying to start the day off right by playing the Putumayo Kids album "World Playground." Its so fun and festive, it makes me feel like I should be heading out to the beach! The whole line of Putumayo Kids CDs are just wonderful-- a truly terrific introduction to music from around the world. We got them in the boutique initially for our "Dance for Haiti" event, as Putumayo pledged to donate 100% of the proceeds of the "Caribbean Playground" CD to relief efforts in Haiti. They sent us the whole set of their Kids line, so we've been playing their "Jazz Playground," "Sing Along with Putumayo," World Playground," "Dreamland," "Picnic Playground," "African Dreamland," "French Playground," and, obviously, "Caribbean Playground" non-stop for a few months now. Some of the teachers have even started to incorporate this music into class, just for a change of pace. The kids love it! It's amazing how well they respond to subtle changes like that.
Keep Dancing,
Sophie
