Lili at the Ballet

My three year olds read act two of Rachel Isadora's "Lili at the Ballet" yesterday. What a truly special and exciting book for beginning ballerinas! Many of the girls see and touch their very first pointe shoe- a momentous occasion in any young dancer's life. I brought them very near to the book to examine different costumes, positions, and steps, and they just loved pointing out those things they knew and learning about the things they didn't.

Silence blanketed the studio when they stepped into their beautiful pastel tutus, and the girls felt as though they were truly onstage dancing Swan Lake in front of a crowded theatre. At the end of the class, we lined up across the room holding hands and did a great curtsey all together. What a wonderful class!
Keep Dancing,
Sophie
