The excitement is running high as we gear up for the start of Summer Camps at Ballet Petite! What a great time for our students to let loose and try out some new genres, to experience special stories with old and new friends, and to allow them to get creative in visual arts as well!
Our Magical Morning Camp for 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 years is truly special, as it is just a perfect first camp! Each week the campers read two fairytales, and get to explore those stories creatively with music, costumes, props, and crafts! The real tea party is enough to turn any little girl into a ballerina!
The Tutu Sweet Ballerina Camp for 3-4 years is usually our most popular camp, where blossoming ballerinas dance in enchanting fairytale ballets with sparkling costumes, wands, and tiaras. This camp is filled with games, crafts, and a special tea party, culminating in a ballet performance where each ballerina dresses in a costume she has designed!
Our Happily Ever After Princess Camp for 4-5 years is also high in demand, where each princess-in-training is sure to be charmed by her favorite fairytale. Each week is filled with the enchanted influence of one of many classic fairytales. The camp begins with a ballet-based warm-up. Each ballerina will be delighted by the creation of princess crafts, dining on princess treats and perfecting the traits of royalty. The week culminates in a special presentation on the last day of camp.
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Your favorite star can perform in our Broadway Baby Camp for 3-5 years. With exciting acting games, memorable songs, and creative movement, each camper will shine in the spotlight! You don't want to miss this show!
A lot of our students try out tap for the first time during the summer! Once your dancer's toes start tapping in our Tappin' Toes Camp for 3-5 years, they won't be able to stop dancing! They'll tap to some oldies but goodies such as "Jailhouse Rock," "Rockin Robin," "Hit the Road Jack," and "Heard It Through the Grapvine." Campers will learn tap steps and exciting choreography, all while having toe tappin' fun!
For our older dancers, we have the always-popular American Girl Dance Camp for 5-7 years. Students can enjoy their favorite American Girl characters in a whole new way with this interactive dance camp. Each week features a different American girl, such as Felicity, Josefina, Julie, Kirsten, and Molly. In this ballet-based camp, students will learn historical dances, and create a craft from the era as they learn about the lifestyle of their favorite American Girl and enjoy the same traditions and games. The American Girl performing arts experience encourages creativity and gives girls new ways to learn timeless American traditions. The campers will present a performance on the final day of camp.
Another option for our older students is our Broadway Classics Camp for 5-7 years, in which the lights of Broadway will shine from their eyes as they sing and dance their way in to the hearts of all! Campers will be immersed in an exciting week of singing, acting and dancing. Days are fun-filled with Broadway dances, acting games, heartfelt singing, cast parties and many other thrilling activities, culminating in a grand finale performance!
Knowing that Hip Hop has taken the dance scene by storm, we offer a Got Hip Hop? Camp for 5-7 years! Does your dancer have the hip hop bug? If so, come and dance with us in this heart-pumping, energetic full-day camp. You can come kick it old school style or raise your hands to Miley Cyrus's "Party in the USA." Each day includes a craft, snack, beat stompin' music, funky choreography, and tons of fun!
Your summer camp experience with Ballet Petite doesn't have to end at 3:00! Sign up for our Fairytale Endings Camp for 3-7 years and your child can spend their afternoon with their fairytale favorites. Students become their favorite fairytale character in this magical camp where dance and magic meet! Students will enhance their dance abilities while entering the magical world of fairytales. There's no better way to end your dancing day!
We have two exciting new offerings this summer for our students ages 8 and up. In our two-week ballet intensive, students will refine their technical skills. Each day will begin with a technique class in which students will build strength, increase flexibility and agility, and develop grace. This full-day program expands students' dance vocabulary, exposing them to new steps. This constant exposure to ballet will not only improce students' technical foundation, but also will help students achieve a new comfort level in their own dancing, allowing for development of personal style and expression. This intensive training experinece will be supplemented with an audition and rehearsal process for the beloved ballet 'Coppelia.' The two-week program will culminate with the studnets performing variations from 'Coppelia.' Dancers will find Ballet Petite's two-week intensive a fully rewarding experience, promoting technical and personal growth.
Our two-week Musical Theatre Intensive will begin with the starlets auditioning for a part in the musical 'Dear Edwina,' a musical about 13-year old Edwina Spoonapple who wants to prove to her friends and family that she is as talented as her siblings by giving advice to her neighbors through song and dance. Each week will consist of technique classes, acting out their special character roles, singing and dancing. At the end of this camp the performers will put on a full-scale production!
We are also looking for camp assistants- students ages 9 and up who are interested in lending a hand in warm ups, choreography, and everything in between!
